Prejudice and Othering

Post by Admin on Sat Nov 07, 2015 2:16 pm

On pg. 40, Vernon says, “Oh, these people’s minds work in strange ways, Petunia, they’re not like you and me.”
  • Vernon regularly normalizes his own family while “othering” those connected to the wizarding world.
  • What effect do you think this could have on Harry when he finally learns he’s a wizard?
  • What are you noticing so far in terms of themes of prejudice?
