Assimilation

On pg. 144, Rowling writes, “Ron had already had a big argument with Dean Thomas, who shared their dormitory, about soccer.” This is one of the only ways we ever see a Muggle born student resisting complete assimilation to Wizarding culture.

• What accommodations do you think Hogwarts should make for Muggle born students?
  
• What do you think it’s like for a Muggle born student during their first days at Hogwarts given that there are so many differences from their normal lives? (i.e.no electricity in the castle, moving staircases, magic)
