The Fat Lady Empty The Fat Lady

The Fat Lady knows that the students have been out of bed when they shouldn’t have, but doesn’t tell on them once throughout the entire series.
  • Why do you think the Fat Lady keeps this secret for students who are out in the castle when they aren’t supposed to be?
  • Is it fair that the Fat Lady can sometimes leave, leaving Gryffindors locked out of their common room, while the entrances to the other Houses are reliable?
  • Do you think there’s a way for McGonagall to know when students leave the Gryffindor common room?
