Goblin Stereotypes
The descriptions of the Goblins in this book are consistent with European folklore, but also consistent with negative Jewish stereotypes.
- Is it likely that the European folklore on Goblins was intentionally based on Jewish stereotypes?
- Are the descriptions of the Goblins in this book anti-semitic in nature?
- Given that Voldemort and the Death Eaters are at least partially based on Hitler and the Nazis, is it likely that the use of these stereotypes is intentional?
- What other stereotypes do we see in the books?
